And we didnt even have the feeders up!! But we quick made nectar and got them
up!! In my excitment I accidently dumped the nectar down the drain after it
cooled thinking I had put it in another bowl to cool!! I was sooo mad at myself
lol but at least I realized what I had done ..wow I could have put plain water
in the feeders, I would have been so dissapointed with no takers lol
I guess its true they DO remember where their 24/7 cafes are huh. Im sooo
excited!! happy.gif

Wonderful news that they remembered your place-- even without your feeders up! They must have been very happy with your treats last year.

Congratulations!!! I'm very happy for you. I think that happened to me, too, one year--sort of. I had brought the feeders in for cleaning and forgot to fill them and take them back out. Wouldn't you know, my first hummingbird showed up right then, and I was scrambling to get the feeders filled. I think he ended up going to the Bleeding Heart.

Is this your normal date to see one?

Actualy our Hummer is about 2 weeks early... usualy a week after Mothers day.
What a great surprise! happy.gif happy.gif Last yr we had an Orieole that constantly drained
the feeders dry.. but this yr we fooled him.. we got those little yellow tips &
glued them on now that ole Orieole wont get a single sip!! They have to eat too
but not at our house! It was fun to watch tho.. he would RAMM the feeder after getting soo mad after he emptied it.

From Kalamazoo County. The long wait is now over. The first male arrived today, heading right to the feeder for a long sip of nectar. [linked image]
