Pam,

The two Salvias that I bought from you have labels Salvia Gargantua and Salvia Micropetala. I could not find either of these during my web searches. Is Gargantua the same as Guarnatica and I am not sure what the other one is? You mentioned both get pretty large.

Chances are likely you got Salvia gauranitica from Pam . It's a seriously excellent hummer attractor , one of the very best .Try to give it as much sun as possible and enjoy !!

Unless the Micropetala was crossed with Cuphea micropetala, chances are it is Salvia microphylla (Cherry Sage)

Salvia Guarantica Brazilian Form similar to Black and Blue in size only Larger blooms. Cuphea Micropetala was not a plant I was selling because I have never grown it before. I gave you that one along with the Schumanii because it was also a plant that was discussed on the forum alot last year and you only wanted 1 Agastache and 2 Cuphes's originally. I believe I got the seeds from either Penney or Kristen. I probably mispelled it, I wrote over 500 tags, there was bound to be a mistake or two. My records show C. Micropetala if I labled it a Salvia, my mistake. Pheewww, at least I didn't charge you for that one!

Hope that helps and excites!

Thanks everyone for the clarifications. Just want to make sure that everything gets planted correctly.

Pam, all your plants are very exciting and no problems about any labels. All clarifications are only for self education. I might come back for some more once all these have settled in.

Suchie,

Both Cupheas are annuals here, I would pot em for now until they fully mature and the weather heats up (they like the heat), up to you.

C. micropetala has longer more slender leaves so it isn't that. It must be a salvia

Penny,

I thought the leaves were off for Cuphea also, but.........

"Unless the Micropetala was crossed with Cuphea micropetala" oh your funny! [linked image]

Well, I guess we have a mystery plant among the 50 different seeds I sowed. I must have sowed them all because there is no envelope left. .. dum dum dum dum!

I know Ward offers a cutting class, does he offer a LABELING class also?

Know I have to go look for those Cuphea Micropetala, I know I traded with Kristen and I have my excel spreadsheet (yes I do try) that says Penny sent me some as well.

Off to the gym!

I suppose I would get in trouble if I say it is a weed, I'm not really sure. There is no Salvia micropetela. Whatever it is it is nicely grown.
