You are not alone. I am in northwest Indiana and usually don't see one until mid may. I have feeders up just in case. There is nothing in bloom for them here. The map says they are all around me, so I'm just waiting and waiting.
Susan and Leslie , Here's wishing they will come very soon to your backyards ! maybe after the rains move out they will settle in !
Keeping fingers crossed !

Susan and Leslie -- I too want to add my wishes that you guys soon get some hummers. Im especially surprised that leslie here in indiana does not have any. Susan when did your first appear last year.
Steve,
I just went into the archives here and checked our records. Our 1st and only Spring visitor last year was a male sighting on May 15th. After the male left, we didn't have any til fall migration started here on August 31st with our 1st for the southern migration.
Have mercy if we have to wait til one day before September again!!!
Here are 2 of the threads I started with our 1st and only male sighting last Spring...
I'm hummerless too. I have seen a few Calliope and one Rufous on one of my study areas outside of town, but none have graced my yard yet. Have had the feeder up for 3-weeks and now have some Columbine and Coral Bells blooming, but nothing visiting yet that I have seen.
My nieghbor got a pair last week but I am still looking out the picture window front of the house.
My nieghbor lives right across the street from me and we are in the city limits.
NO,hummers.I am going to plant my 12 black and blue salvias that I bought last two weeks.I understood the japanese beattle bug do not bother the salvias.
After several days of blissful visits, I haven't seen the little guy yesterday or today. So, I guess I'm hummerless again. Or, maybe he will reappear just when I least expect it, or another will take his place. They sure can be mysterious in their ways.
I apologize in that I know that my condition isn't really full fledged "hummerlessness." Reminds me of that old adage, paraphrased---better to have had a hummingbird and lost him, than never to have had one at all.
Good luck, everyone! Hope you get your firsts soon, or get back the one you lost--whichever applies.
Current Topic - Ok, who else beside me is still hummerless?
