A bath feels good. I was cleaning up the waterfall and I kept hearing the soft beat of a female rufous behind me, so I sat down and waited and she came in for a quick soak, then went and sat on the fence and preened.


This male watches the back and side yard J diving at any female that shows up, the females mostly use the feeder in the front where they can come in with some cover and stay hidden.

Watched a female come in last night and what do you know its Scruffy, she wasn't around much for a while then we started seeing her again.

As usual, your photographs are amazing. I have been trying to capture them on flowers and perching this year and it takes all the patience I can muster. Getting them on the feeder is easy. You just focus on it and wait, but anything else is always a blur for me.
