Bud,

Amazing images! How long do you have to wait to get those shots?

Really nice shots, Bud. I think my favorite pictures involve bathing birds.

WHAT PICTURES!!!!!

It has been great weather for ducks here too. Rain, rain, and more rain. The grass and weeds are taking over but with all the dry weather we have had for the past few years I am not going to complain.

You could say it is great weather for the hummingbirds too. They just love the rain.

Wonderful shots! Just loved them! It's been raining here, too. I'm thrilled as it has helped me out with watering my new tree, grass & plantings for a few days. [linked image]

Susan Louise, Maryjane, Lisa, and Diane - thanks for the words!

Pam - You have learned a valuable lesson... if one of my post headings seems odd or out of place... it's probably a feeble attempt at misdirection. I was raised in a home filled with sarcasm and a very dry sense of humor. Therefore, I blame it all on genetics... [linked image]

Suchie - Until the next rain happy.gif Actually, I have a good view of our garden from my computer and my camera is never far away... The camera and lens are weather-sealed, so I don't hesitate when I see a photo opportunity. My only regret on these shots is that I didn't use a faster shutter speed to get a little more detail.

Joan - I agree. As much as I enjoy trying to capture images of the hummers at blooms, watching them dance around in the rain on a leaf always brings a smile to my face. They seem to be almost joyous... and smiling... when bathing happy.gif

Carol - Thanks! I spent most of yesterday planting and will do the same again today... in the rain. BTW... I really enjoyed the pic of you and the dogs! Sergei is also occasionally guilty of stopping dead in his tracks... Michele has been looking for a good pack / carrier for the long hikes [linked image]

Bud, witnessing hummers bathe on wet foliage has been one of the most awesome things I've seen them do, but I have never had the camera handy when I've seen it. Thank you for capturing these great pics for us!

I have only witnessed a hummer bathing one time and that was on my jewelweed leaves after a summer rain. I was completely mesmerized. Now that we are finally getting some rain in this area, maybe I should keep one eye on the hosta leaves. I might just see a little skinny dipping over there. This has been an extremely dry month with only about .85 of an inch of rain until last night for the whole month so far. Last night we finally got a good shower and off and on rain for most of the day. I am sure most of the plants are relishing it.
