Hello Eldon,

I got one 'Raspberry Wine' Monarda this year. We didn't have any of those bugs here last year, so I don't know if it will have that pest problem. I'm sure someone here will know.
What I do know is that it will grow very tall, so I hope you planted them in the back of your garden...[linked image]
I didn't know it can grow to be nearly 5'! The tag that came with it said 2-3' in height for growth. I'm glad I double checked at Dave's Garden and saw a few pics someone was nice enough to post...I was like this when I saw them...[linked image]. I'm glad it was before I planted them. Otherwise I would have had to move them...Whew!
Here's 2 pics...

I have these bee balm and the hummers were all over them. They spread quite a bit so I had plenty for giving away and I just kept transplanting them to make a long row at the back of the garden. They came back, I am in zone 5 and are doing great. I also planted Jacobs Cline and it does not do nearly as well as Rasberry for me here. Mine have never gotten taller than 3 1/2 or maybe 4ft.

I have had Jacob Cline planted for several years and it has never bloomed. From the looks of the plant I am going to be blessed with a few blooms any day now.
