A visitor....

I would like to share a lovely experiance I had the other day. As most forum members know, I am presently 'sidelined' after being in an accident.
From my 'bed' I can view and photograph with the camera 'propped up', the hummers at the tall Firestalk and the Russelia equisetiformis plants. Late on Tues afternoon, I was laying there, with the window wide open an immature Canivets hummer 'hovered' in the opening for a few seconds then left. He did this twice more then the third time he flew right above my feet and looked straight at me ! After 3-4 seconds he then flew back outside, but I felt sooo good! For the next 2 days, the 'display' was repeated.
Hopefully, he will come again.

Patricia,

What a great experience for you! They must know you need some cheering up. Bet your heart was beating wildly. Hope you didn't "wet the bed" [linked image]

Do you have a Hummer feeder attached to an IV polE?? [linked image]

How cute! A hummer in the house! I bet he put a smile on your face.

Patricia that is a wonderful experience and so glad that you shared it with us. The flowers on that Russelia are just gorgeous too by the way! Hope that you are on the mend and will be back on your feet in no time.

Cannas from Costa Rica?

June 14 2009, 7:23 PM

Patricia,

I think we exchanged canna seeds last fall (if not, it was someone else on this board in Costa Rica).

The ones you sent me (Scarlet and Yellow) are germinated and big enough to be planted in the ground now (I started them rather late!). They will go in this week finally.

Did you ever plant my canna seeds? If not, don't worry - they germinate pretty well even if several years old!

My cannas are green leaved with red flowers. Here are some from last year...
