These blooms are so cool. The funky pattern in the background is fennel (For the Black Swallowtail caterpillars) against the yellow of our garage.

Wow...with photos like those, I may never point a camera at a hummer again. I'm blown away.

Bud,

I just LOVE the "funky background"[linked image] I'm wondering if Monarda is what I saw at the NY Bot Garden the other day. I took a pic even though it was done blooming because it was so unusual.

Here goes
monarda

Patrick,

I hear you! I think that everytime I pick up my camera and hide nd wait for these little guys to materialize....

The background worked well with the photo. I love that bloom! Nice job, Bud!

Great shots Bud! Raspberry wine really is stunning!

Pam I don't think that is Monarda in your picture. The leaves don't look right...too narrow and too deeply serrated.

Spectacular pictures, Bud. I will be adding Raspberry Wine next year.
Pam, that looks like some type of Leonotis.

Bud,

That photo should be Picture of the YEAR, never mind of the day! Nice shot!

It really is a beautiful shot. How could a hummer pass up that bloom?
