Salvia greggii Navaho Purple

I started two plants from the three seeds I collected from a plant last year. I started the seeds this year in March and one plant has started blooming. The other shold be blooming by the week end. The color is really an intense purple very similar to the pics I have seen of Mesa Purple. I can't wait for the other one to bloom so I can see if both plants came true (or as true as they can be). I have them planted on either side of my coral honeysuckle which I thought would be a nice complement to the coral red honeysuckle blooms above (if the honeysuckle ever blooms this year).

Sounds great but as they say I picture is worth a thousand words.

My honeysuckle is absolutely loaded with blooms and hummers eat from it each day. So in spite of the aphid attack and the Jap beetles I knock off of it each day it continues to soar.

As a side note the tiny walmart feeders are not getting an inkling of the use they did in the past. I used to have to refill them two or three times a day. Not happening this year lucky if I have to refill them in 2 or 3 days.

I wish I could post a picture of it but no camera...sorry. I am hoping that with the bloom booster my coral honeysuckle will start to pop any day now. This sure has been a long dry spell for me and my plants this year.

No rain the last two days Eldon but it is very cloudy and quite cool barely hitting 70 degrees if we are lucky. Night temps are in the 50's. We are supposed to get more thunderstorms today and through Saturday.

The sun finally came out this afternoon. Hopefully it will stay out and warm up a bit.
