I think that feeder looks like a hummermobile cause it looks like it could go forward and backwards. [linked image] Where is the best price for the feeder, Steve?

Karen-- This feeder can only go one way. It also has an ant moat that comes with it which you can either use or leave off. Without a doubt nottawa is the best and cheapest place to get it , check around and you will see.

Steve, you're going to end up liking that feeder in spite of yourself! wink.gif

I'm trying to decide how to get a picture of mine. I have wood blinds on my windows, and I hope if I pull them up the hummers won't be scared and not come to the feeder. I'd love to pull up the blinds and just sit there and take a few pictures one day. I'd like to join you all in posting pictures.

Unfortunately after finally deciding on a camera earlier this summer my refrigerator died. Buying a new refrigerator kept me from getting a new camera so I don't have a good zoom to get a really good picture. Maybe next year ...

Carol...

Just because the blinds are up doesn't mean a hummingbird will completely avoid your feeder, although it may take a little time (anywhere from a few minutes to a few days) to get used to the change in the window reflection/transparency. I get birds right outside my windows, blinds up or down.

If you have an older camera, at least look to see if it has a tripod mount on the bottom (a small threaded hole). If so, with time, you could sit still with the camera mounted on the tripod right in front of the window, with your hand already on the shutter. It won't produce the kind of art-quality photos people get with professional cameras and special strobes, but if you want to keep pictures of "your" birds, it's possible (although tedious) to do it.
