I'm sitting here and its raining....AGAIN! So I took the time to edit some photos, hope you enjoy them.
Male RTH here all season, still here. He has shortened his territory to this corner of my deck. The First Nature feederr is to the left of him, not visable in photo. Is he sticking that tongue at me??
This is one of those "almost perfect" photos. Thru the window and not focused properly, but isn't it neat with the Bougainvillea next to her?
This feeder is hand made from a gentleman in N.C. It hasn't been used much last year, but the minute I put it out this week, this Juvie was all over it!
And finally, my personal fav, Juvie on Agastache thru the window even!
Pam
Your pictures were quite a treat! I liked the Bougainvilla next to the Sa. guaranitica. I also really liked the look of the feeder even if it wasn't used. It is a piece of garden art all by itself and the last one with Juvie at the agastache is another fav for me too. That is the one plant in my yard that is getting at least some use this year.

Thanks everyone, I spent the last hour watching the hummer antics as they exercise their wings and build their muscles with precise manuvers preparing for their journey south. One little hummer flies up to every small bird in the yard trying to get a rise out of it. Song Sparrow, come play with me. Chicadee, your no match for me! He even flies by close to me trying to entice me in his game, brave little fellow! (my husband shouts, keep your mouth closed!)
Maybe that is why they get so crazy chsaing every bird around. They are working out preparing for the marathon that they will be competing in come fall. Maybe its not just play, or territorial, but working out their little muscles for the flight south?
I noticed the Goldfinches are turning olive/brown again, didn't they just get done nesting? I just ralized those must be juvenile GF's! My GF feeder is blocked from view by deckrail plants, I better move them! Had a Immature Female Chestnut-sided Warbler fly thru the yard yesterday, Fall is definitely on its way......

Wonderful shots Pam, you are lucky to still have adult males in your backyard! ... hey are those Hummingbird Christmas lights in that first shot- luv it!??
Beautiful shots Pam! Hard to pick a favorite but I will go with the Agastache simply because mine did not survive las year's drought and that pic is a sight for sore eyes.
I've looked at those feeders and considered buying one. Have they been used a lot in the past? I never hear anyone mention them. They sell them at WBU here. At least I think they're the same feeder. They come in several different styles. They have a pretty little individual window feeder that I looked at before deciding on Aspects Jewelbox.

Yes those are the xmas light type only everyone just uses them to decorate year round now. I found them online a few years ago, I think Karen picked them up too! Hummer nuts, I know!
Carol,
I'm not sure if WBU has this feeder, I kind of doubt it. It was made by a local artist in N.C. I run across it in a few shops down there, but not WBU. Hey, you never know.
Oh and NO the hummers usually like the $1 feeders, but when the juvie frenzy started and they were checking everything red out, I put this feeder out and got lucky. A good thing is the bees have left it....well, be.
Thanks Dana, I'm just glad someone is finally using this feeder! A migrating female just used it also. Fummy how you give up on fancy feeders because they prefer the plastic Wally World ones and than you find a few "Upscale" hummers!! I'm just glad I gave this feeder another try. Mayyyyyyyybe, I'll bring some other oldies out!
Edited to say that I found a link that says they're made in Maggie Valley, NC. That isn't true though. Strange to see that. I've seen these at many websites as well as a couple of places in town, and they're made in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, in the Smoky Mtns.

You are most likely correct. I bought the feeder in The Smokey Mtns of NC and I thought the artist was from NC, I probably didn't save the paperwork that came with it.
I hope someone isn't copying.....Either way, they sure are pretty!
