A friend of mine has a finca at a lower altitude than mine, about 1800 meters. I get the Green-crowned Woodnymph on and off (I´m at 2100 meters) but at his place it´s one of the most common hummingbirds.

Wow is right. I sure wish some of those amazing-looking tropical hummers migrated north like the ruby-throateds.

At the risk of sounding redundant double WOW! I can't think of a better way to describe him.

Thank you friends. I would like to add that those colors are exactly what came out of the camera. I didn´t add any "saturation" in photoshop. He is one intensely colored bird!

I have seen Violet-crowned Woodnymph in C.R. and I can confirm the vibrance of this bird's cousin. However the Green-crowned is even more exciting to me , that green is neon !

Sarah sorry, in Colombia a finca is a country property often for weekend use by the owners and usually with flower gardens, some times with some animals, maybe a horse. But not a farm with cows, goats etc.

Peter, there aren't enough superlatives to do justice to your photo and that magnificent hummer. Thanks so much for sharing.
