Susan Louise...the middle picture is minature zinnias and the hummers just love them...they are fairly tall (2-3 feet), but the actual flowers are much smaller that regular zinnias =)

Verna, are your miniature zinnias call 'Lilliput' by chance??

I planted a packet of Z. 'Lilliput' seeds early in the summer because I had read the butterflies really liked that particular variety but I see my hummers all over ours, too.

For anyone interested, here's a link to Diane's Seed write up:http://www.dianeseeds.com/zinnia-lilliput.html

I tried zinnias a few years ago as I needed something low dow in front of my beds but I guess I had too many salvias to catch the attention of the hummers and they were ignored. Maybe I will try them again in another location next year. Don't know what kind they were but don't think that they were the Liliput variety. I had collected the seed while we were at an amuzement park.

Nice plants Verna,, but I too had no luck with attracting hummers to the zinnias I tried recently.
