Moonflowers are not known as hummer plants, but they are a nice companion climber to other vines like the appropriately named Morning Glory. A few of us chatted about this some time ago. Anyway, I finally remembered to take a picture last night. These flowers are huge and very beautiful. I've read that they open (unfurl) very quickly. I look forward to seeing that. I have an impression that it'll look something like a parachute opening! This is the first year I've grown them successfully and plan to continue.

Julie moonflowers are wonderful. I love how they quiver as they open and the scent!!! Just beautiful. The hummingbirds don't use them but the 'hummingbird' moth will wrap the up when they open at night. Go out tonight with a flashlight and check. You will probably see it being used by the moth.

My grandchildren love to watch these flowers open late in the evening. I do too.
