I know that y'all need some major relief from the heat down there but as far away as we are up here we always seems to get the remnamts from the tropicasl storms and hurricans that come into the gulf either from lots of rain which is usually welcome and way more wind than we can handle.

I guess tomorrow is going to be the hottes day of this week and maybe the year. They have been upping the predicted high by the hour, 96,97,98, and now I just heard on local radio 101 with heat index well you name it.
We had a pretty good drought last year about this time. Indiana's largest lake which is lake monroe 10750 acres of actual water had beaches that they never had before. That little 20min drizzle we had the other day didnt do much. Most of the yards around here are already brown. You have to go some to find any green. Although down in the southwest I know its worse.
Oh...THAT Don! Sorry, I haven't been watching the news lately. Yes, I hope Don brings some much needed rain to much of TX...and some relief from the heat, too.

SeaTac, WA...one cool place
We got some relief from our long dry spell, and I hope all the dry areas will get the same. Amazing how much we appreciate the sound of rain after not seeing any for a while.
Desperation. I was considering placing my cell phone on the deck table for the night with a theory it would only rain if I left the cellphone, a book, camera, leather bag, etc...
Mike I know you can really use that rain now but at least in your area stays much milder during winter and you could easily have plants blooming for those winter hummers. The rain will have a better chance of soaking in if you do have a wetter winter.
