Don't forget!

With the drought, I don't have as many hummers as I've had in past years. And I'm fighting a battle of the hummers vs. the bees on my feeders. As a result, I only have 6 feeders up this year whereas I generally have around 30 to 40 feeders up. It's a battle trying to keep the bees off the hummers, . . .and yes, I've tried all the "tricks" and so far none has worked.

In addition, I'm having frequent visitors to my yard, day and night. The other night Terry got up when a motion light went off on the garage only to see a little racoon eating the berries that had fallen off my queen palm. Yesterday, my yard guy killed a coral snake in the yard, and we have been seeing lots of other non-poisonous snakes which I just say "Go after the bad guys in my yard!"

Anyway, if you are in Rockport, be sure to stop by and say hi!

Sorry you are have so much trouble witht he bees this year. They can certainly create havoc.

Even if you can't attend the festival folks can order a festival T-shirt and the art work is just beutifully done. See Bob's post about the festival for details on ordering a shirt if you are interested.

Yea! This morning we actually got some of the wet stuff out of the sky, . . .I think it's called rain! Not that I would know what it is, since we are about 30" below our normal rainfall for this time of year!

But right after the rain, .4", I noticed lots of hummer activity on the feeders. And then all through the afternoon they kept coming in! I have already gone through more than 2 gallons of solution just this afternoon. And I've had to add more feeders. I think that I'm up to maybe 15 feeders right now. This evening the hummers were in a huge feeding frenzy! I'll try to get some video tomorrow!

Those little birds sure make me smile!
