Steve's post on fungus gnats brings to mind a topic that's pertinent at this season. When we bring plants indoors for the winter, we often end up with aphid/mite issues.
Do you have an effective method of treating the plants when you bring them inside to nip this problem in the bud? Or anything equally effective at killing these pests when they become evident during the winter?
I usually cut the plants back quite a bit, with the rationale that I'm eliminating a lot of the pests/eggs that might be hidden in the foliage I'm getting rid of. But come Jan. or Feb, I'm still likely to find an infestation.
Usually it takes different solutions for each of these pests. I'd really like to hear what works best for you.
