OMG, That is so cute! I have made a similar type 'accessory' for my hummer using copper wire and clear appliance tubing that I thread onto the wire to form the perch. I never thought to make them a little more decorative but I may do some with a little more pizzaz after seeing this one. Copper wire is very easy to shape and even though the price has gone up quite a bit in the past 2 yrs. it is still very affordable, doesn't rust and requires no special treatment. The tubing is very cheap and can be easily cleaned or sterilized if necessary. Thank you for posting this

The inventor's Youtube page has some fun videos of the hummers using them. It does seem like something that would be easy to make. I'm all in favor of anything that would make a hummer want to hang out in my garden.
It was pointed out to me on FB that I have the ant moat upside down. Opps! I have a large umbrella too and just thought it was for keeping the feeder out of the sun and rain out. All this time I have been using them wrong!! LoL
I think I was just copying the one I saw at Wards house,

It is basically just to show you how easily and inexpensively you could make one of your own. Since I posted the picture I did modify mine and add more scroll work but for less than a dollar you could make one that is uniquely yours.

Pam, I have one of those umbrella moats, and you can turn it either way. If you use it like you have it just rub Vaseline on the inside of the umbrella.
