Are these returning Black and Blue Salvias?

Salvia experts - please check out these photos. Are either or both of these clumps returning Black and Blue Salvias? The leaves look sorta right to my untrained eyes!

Absolutely!
Black and Blue will form runners, so you may also find shoots coming up a little distance away from the main clump. These can be divided easily.

Thanks for the good news, Priya. Having B and B's return is a first for me! The plant that survived was the one on the highest ground (versus the 4 others that died). So maybe "high and dry" is the key to winter time survival?

I also had one survive and start to return. I wasn't quite sure since mine isn't in the best location and it does stay a bit wetter where it is but we had a drier winter this year too.

Yes, all salvias need good drainage, and they can't tolerate 'wet feet' all winter long.

Congrats on your returning S. guaranitica B&B - the hummers will thank you for it!
