Re: Coral porterweed cuttings looking for good homes

...Mine have not rooted yet and look okay, am I doing it wrong?

At times I've kept these cutting in water for a month with no signs of rooting, yet the still looked great. I have noticed that cuttings from older stems seem to take several months in potting soil before rooting, only the new green stems less than a few weeks old seem to take rapidly, so just be aware they will take time. Just keep them from getting too much heat/sun stress during the day.

Thanks for this advice and encouragement Tom. Several of mine are looking very droopy despite being in very moist potting soil and shade. Hopefully, most or all will be fine eventually.

Thank you again for all of your wonderful generosity!!

Kathi, let them dry some between waterings and keep them out of direct sun until established. Might be different for me here due to the high humidity but these and new penta cuttings suffer here in consistently wet soil.

Tom,
Okay thanks, mine are blooming in the vases so they
are still in the vases out in the yard in a shaded area
maybe I'll try the younger shoots on some and try rooting
hormone some.
