[PHOTO] Los Angeles, Alta California - November 12, 2009 - (ACN) On the 4th of July of this year, I had the opportunity to accompany the Viva Palestina USA humanitarian delegation to Gaza as a reporter for La Voz de Aztlan. The trip was extremely worthwhile. The visit to Egypt and Gaza and interaction with Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims impressed on me how little we know about the real Islam. The US educational system is failing to inform us on this huge other world out there.
Unbeknownst to many in our community, there is now a growing Islamic influence here in Aztlan, in Mexico and in South America. I know for a fact that Muslims have joined us in the struggle for equal justice. They were there with us at the recent Riverside county confrontations against the Neo-Nazis who were harassing our day laborers at the Home Depot.
With this in mind, I would like to let our readers know about a new and unique radio program on the Internet. It is called "One Legacy Radio" and is located at
http://www.onelegacyradio.com Here you will have an opportunity to learn about the real Islam from professionals. This will make you less susceptible to the lies and the negative propaganda being disseminated by nefarious Zionists and other Islamophobes.
Of particular interest is one scheduled to launch today at 3:00 PM called "Objection!" It is hosted by Attorney Reem Salahi. She is presently the leader of Viva Palestina USA for Southern California and was instrumental in purchasing the medical supplies in Cairo, Egypt and organizing their transport to Gaza. Reem Salahi, as an attorney, specializes in national security and civil rights. She is a member of the National Lawyers Guild and the President of the Muslim Bar Association of Southern California.
Today's "Objection!" program features an interview with Hussam Ayloush and Naji Hamdan live from Lebanon. Naji Hamdan is a US citizen from Southern California who was arrested and tortured by the United Arab Emirates on orders from the CIA. Thanks to Attorney Reem Salahi and other civil rights lawyers, the totally innocent Naji Hamdan is now free and living with his family in Lebanon.
