Update on my life for anyone that is bored. :)

So today my baby girl (pug) got spayed. I've been babying her so much since she got back. I was so worried something might happen to her but she is doing great. Just dopey and whines every once in a while. I was hand feeding her moistened dog food, piece by piece and have been cuddling with her all afternoon and evening. She is spoiled rotten. Was also before the surgery as well so she's use to it. happy.gif She's sweet and very obedient so yes she is spoiled but I guess rotten she is not.

Also nausea has been kicking in at night really bad with the pregnancy, very fun. Starting to pudge a little in the tummy as well. Jeans are getting to snug so wearing all low rises now. Just entered my 7th week. My waist grew like this last time as well. Can't really see it but can feel it. Can't wait for my ultrasound to make sure all is well.

I came very close to cutting my hair today. Actually tied it back and was going to and my MIL comment on it being pretty and I told her she wasn't helping. It's hard with farming and everything to take care of it. Plus with a baby coming.... you know it's going to pull the hair. happy.gif It's got split ends and getting a little frayed. But it's grown a little. It doesn't grow as much as it use to. It use to grow an inch a month. Maybe I'm just having a ton of breakage. I don't know. It's 39.5 inches now.

So that's my life in a nutshell. That and I'm broke after paying for the spay and my car needs a lot of work, etc. Wish I had a million dollars. Haha.

Yes I've cut it a couple times, about 6 inches each time.

on the pregnancy. Sorry you're experiencing morning sickness. Not fun at all.

Don't cut your hair. Believe me, unless you go really short, baby hands will still find it. I work with children under two years of age and I've never had a problem with them grabbing my hair whereas others with short hair do. It's so easy to tuck it up in a bun or braid out of the way.

Progress from June 2006 - October 2008

2a/M/ii
Mid-Dark brown with natural red and silver highights; fringe/bangs.
Starting length 25"/62.5cm
Current length 35"/89cm
Goal 36"/90cm

Current routine: (Trying to keep it as simple as possible): WC on the weekend following medium oiling; scalp washes every second day; oiling 2-3 nights per week; mid-week conditioning with honey and ACV in water; S&D when I think of it; and dusting every 8-12 weeks.

Shampoo: Organic Instincts diluted with herbal tea (rosemary and chamomile).
Conditioners: A'Kin Protein or Moisturising Conditioner mixed with honey (1 tablespoon of each).
Oils: Favourite is almond oil. Occasionally will use a blend of coconut, almond, olive in the ratio 2:1:1 in summer or as a deep oiling treatment.
Other: ACV infused with herbs (depending upon availability I use a selection of lavender, rosemary, cinnamon, sage, and thyme); BBB; wooden comb; Mason Pearson comb; pure aloe vera gel for smoothing flyaways and fixing hair in place.

'Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfailing beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.' 1 Peter 3:3-4

Congrats on your pregnancy!

What an exciting time in your life (well, except for the morning sickness). Drink some peppermint tea in the morning. That helps.

There is nothing wrong with spoiling your little pug. I spoil my doggies and they know it, but they really are very well behaved. They know all the rules, but once in a while one of them tries to push the envelope, just like children.

I know about being short on money. Treatment for Bandit was a bit costly, but DH and I cut back in other areas so that we could help the little guy.

about your pregnancy! I will pray that it is safe.

I wish I had a million dollars, too--especially for vet bills and car expenses.

Congrats on your pregnancy and I'm glad your pug is recovering well.

Sorry to hear about your pregnancy nausea. When I was pregnant I did not know it for the first couple of months. One day I went snorkeling and got nauseous on the boat, getting in the water didn't help either. I thought I had caught a stomach illness!!

I will also add that you don't need to cut your hair because you are having a baby. I kept mine long and I think it was easy to just put in a bun (and if you make a neat bun it is a quick way to look well-groomed). It also hurts less if a baby grabs a braid and pulls it versus grabbing just a few shorter hairs and pulling them.

I was maintaining my length around 42 to 43 inches, but the ends stick out of my favorite bun at that length, so I am growing on toward my goal again.

Oils: Virgin Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, and sometimes almond oil.
Wash: Aubrey Organics shampoo and conditioner, Indian herbs, CV shampoo bars, or Dairy Whip. Wash approximately once or twice a week. Rinse with raw ACV, and final soak in catnip tea after washing. If hair gets sweaty or dirty between washes I rinse with water alone, or maybe ACV.
Sierra Legacy hardwood comb.
Sleep with hair in a homemade silk satin sleepcap when hair is dry, braided if hair is damp, and loose if hair is wet.

Scalp massage seems beneficial to my hair growth, when I remember to do it regularly.

May your pregnancy go well... do keep us updated. happy.gif

As for your hair, I wouldn't cut it either. Long hair is definitely easier to pull back & out of the way. Also, with my son I simply taught him from very early on (like 3-4 mos) not to pull my hair. I'd say "gentle" and take his hand, running it gently through my hair. He caught on pretty quickly, and to this day is gentle to my hair & never pulls it. Just be consistent & remind the little one often how to treat your hair.

HTH!

Currently trying CWC to see if that helps my hair- it gets dry very easily. (Seems to be working... still testing this for long term effects.)

Oils: Jojoba. I've tried others (EVOO, coconut, sweet almond), but this is my favorite & my staple now. I use it almost daily. It's also especially useful for putting extra moisture into my hair & taming its frizziness after washing. happy.gif

Deep conditioning treatment: Alba "kukui nut" organic body oil. Sounds weird maybe, but it works great!

Brushes: BBB, wooden bristle brush, wide tooth comb as needed.
