Hey Craig:

Actually Jerome was very calm tonight. It was a good game, very typical of all Tiger/Cane games. One thing though, I have never seen the Tigers miss so many open net goals that you and I could have put in, but then again the Canes hit a post and a crossbar and that's the way it goes.

Very clean game, only 10 minors. Thorburn and Soso stuck to hockey and had 2 points each. They were out on the ice together a lot, but it seemed like neither of them even knew the other was out there. As I said in my recap post, the game had the markings of the North Semi Final last season, only this time it was the Hurricanes on the winning end. Very pleased with APM Kyle Newton who stopped 31/34 in his real test against a team with a lot of scoring power.

Love to see you guys knock off the Canes tomorrow night, that would set up a real "barn burner" in Aurora Sunday, great way to end the regular season.

See you then.

Thought the Tigers outplayed the Canes tonight. Was not by a huge margin, but enough that they carried more of the flow of the game. Newton played well, but the winning goal was a little weak. It happened right infront of me and went right through Newton's glove. It happens. Kind of surprised to see such a clean game and not much emotional at all in it. Cane's did not seem in it from the start, but Tiger's didn't exactly jump to the beat either. I agree with SMC about the missed opportunities by the Tigers through open nets and they had two opportunites where the puck was right on the line. As they say close is only good in horseshoes.

At least the drive up was fun. 60 on highway 48 is always the way to travel 8-)

Here's a bold prediction

As many of you know, I have been singing the praises of the Huntsville Muskoka Otters all year long.

They will beat the Hurricanes tomorrow in front of their adoring fans. Not because first place is so important but simply because I have a feeling about such things.

And SMC and Craigshaw can really have a friendly tete a tete in Aurora Sunday.

I love the race in the North this year. It is so good for the league.

Unlike last year, when the powerhouse Tigers of last year were basically on automatic pilot, Jerome Dupont will really have to coach.
