Again tonight it was the weak goaltending of the canes that won the game, 4 - 3 in an overtime thriller.
50+ shots against and we still won, So "vintageguy" I would hate to see what good goaltending could do.
Savage and Milne Rock will backstop us all the way!
Also why is it always the guys with the birdcages that want to be tough guys? half the aurora team has a cage, must be part of dupont's toughness training.
Cane 1 tigers 0.....lots of hockey to come, starting in the barn they call the acc.
Net only came off 17 times - Dan McWinney replication. Savage was well trained I guess.

if i recall mcwhinney was the best at it, savage must be second best.
but a win is a win......doesn;t matter how you do it.
Tomorrow, watch how the tigers crash the net, the only protection the goalie has it to knock the net off otherwise he gets run over.
simple solution, stop running the goalie and he may stop knocking the net off.
see you tomorrow in aurora....gonna be another good one.

Why not continue to copy McWhinney's old ways when the referee lets it go time after time? Sure he warned the benches once but other than that where was the usual delay of game penalty? What's even funnier is watching Aurora fans lose it after each whistle from the non-call, really quite comical.
But speaking of McWhinney, and correct me if I'm wrong here, but was he not the same goaltender who almost backstopped the Spirit to the Dudley Hewitt Cup? Savage must be do something right...you know, OHL experience and all!

a win is a win and we will take it anyway we can get it.it was like what 7 times they ran savage.barton also got away with a spear in the second period.guess aci guy didnt see that either
You are right, McWhinney stoned the Tigers game after game two years ago. In the sixth game in Stouffville, the Tigers outshot the Spirit 64 to 36, something like that, and couldn't get it past Danny boy. McWhinney was a master at knocking the net off, sometimes he would knock it off as the Tigers crossed the blueline just in case the rush could be a potential goal, it was quite remarable to watch him in action. Even though he was a master, I don't recall him getting up to 12 or more "net knocking offs". The Spirit won that game on a pp in the 2nd O/T after the ref called the only penalty of the O/T on the Tigers. As I recall it was on defenseman Nathan Oakes for elbowing. The Spirit went on to beat Oakville for the North/West Championship and then lost to St Mikes in the OPJHL Final.
Unfortunately the game was tape delyed, so I cannot comment as I did not see any of the first 6 goals scored. I did see the non-goal(7th), that was a goal(7th), that for some reason was not called a goal(6th).
It was a goal.(should have been 7th)
I would not take the goaltending as a done deal for either side.
Pressure, and who can deal with it night after night, will play a role as well.
I see the Tigers feeding on the 'Canes before this series is over.
Either way, all I care about is that the teams on the ice settle it, and not some "wish there were more people watching me" ref.
......People, let's worry about the players currently playing in these playoffs, as opposed to rehashing news from a couple or more years ago.
Knocking the nets off has been an overused ploy and should be STOPPED.
How? try this.....face off with no player substitution for offending team, just like NHL icing rule. If that doesn't work, a warning, followed by delay of game penalties, no matter how many.
It's B.S. hockey, and to be frank...........BORING!!!!!
