I recall the announcer calling on Watts 2 for slashing, followed by 5 for fighting and a game misconduct. I see in the game sheet, though, that it was recorded as 2 for roughing. Perhaps I misheard the announcement, which isn't surprising to me as the Newmarket fans sitting behind me were ranting all night (some Aurora fans just love to taunt the Newmarket fans,...go figure).
Either way, roughing does not constitute instigation. McQuade was as chippy yesterday as he was on Thursday when he took some other stupid penalties. He's not very bright, or so it seems.
You know I commented at the first of the season that big bad Brian Soso would eventually do the Canes in. Soso has disappointed me and has for the most part, cleaned up his act and is producing a lot of points, key plays and key goals for Newmarket. Brian has a ton of talent which is bad news for the Tigers when he uses his ability and sticks to hockey.
It looks like others have picked up the banner ie: McQuade and a few others, which is good news for the Cats, keep it up boys, love to see the Sin Bin busting with Woodpeckers, oh sorry it's an Ibis.
"To be honoured at all league and play-off games of Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League"
Last season a group of us with executive passes were denied entry into the South/East Final at St. Michael's - and it wasn't the students running the gate...
At first denial we spoke up that the pass was good, at which time Father Michael Lehman was close by and was waved over. He simply shrugged us off and said "nope", then looked at the gentleman taking the tickets and said "we already took care of those guys" with a smug grin and walked away...
As an earlier posted did as well, we payed to enter as we already did the drive down to the game...
This is probably the saddest thing I have seen you do. First, trying to build validity for your false claim on the back of Father Mike is represensible. Using his credibility to make your claim seem valid would be laughable considering what the real course of action might be. You see FM knows nothing about league passes and gate policy. He doesn't get involved in those things and would have deferred that over to me. By the time you would have arrived at the arena for a S/E Conference game he would have already been taking care of pre-game activities downstairs, usually right in the zamboni room area. He never ventures up top from about 5:30 until game time.
Second I know full well that you know that I am the person that can resolve any issues at the door or in the upper part of the arena. You know who I am and I know who you are. If there was a problem at the door you would have come spoken to me about it and I would have resolved it quickly. You would have had over 2 hours to speak to me about a problem like that and yet, nothing.
Last season I even went so far as to put up a sign for our door staff colour coded, and listed. Player passes of eliminated teams were routinely rejected, staff passes always accepted. As the sole senior staff member in main part of the arena - I am always available to help out in situations. Why you chose to not avail yourself of that well know fact a year ago is beyond me. Why you choose to avail yourself of that now is perhaps less then genuine.

With all due respect, this issue is alive and well at St. Mike's home games. It happened again at your last game.
I suggest rather than people actively seeking you out after the fact, you or the St. Mike's organization get their act together and stop hassling those with valid passes. Period.
How about this: I will ensure there is a sign up on the ticket window at the next home game indicating what OHA/OPJHL passes are vaild/invalid. The same sign will be facing inwards so the person working the ticket booth and the patrons can see it. The sign will be in colour to avoid confusion.
Sincerely,

I agree with CSTR (did I say that!) the issue is obviously still alive, so why not just correct the whole thing by telling the gate people at SMC which passes are valid and which are not. Now, that shouldn't take anymore than a phone call to a couple of people.
Of course if the other side of the coin as to what is happening is true, then it may not just be a matter of a phone call. I guess we will find out what the real situation is at the next Buzzer home game.
PM87, is there something wrong with you, if you thought about it and checked the time of the threads, you will see that I was composing my thread at the same time almost that M71 was sending his. M71's thread was not up when I was writing mine.
I had the pleasure of meeting M71 at the All Star game in Vaughan, had a nice talk and carry nothing but respect for him and his efforts in promoting the OPJHL, so don't try to alienate the two of us with your "childish" remarks.
