wow what a game today. first period the otters got themselves behind the 8-ball with undisciplined penalties and were down 2-0 going into the second. the second period saw lewis give the spirit 5 powerplays in a row and anyone watching would agree that at least 3 of them were cheese-calls. if you are going to call all the stupid stuff you have to do it both ways not just for one side. the otters were able to score early and then get a shorthanded goal to tie the game but stouffville again took the lead. going into the third the otters came out fast and hard and spirit bodies were flying all over the ice. this series is really heating up and should be good to the finish.

lots of go otters go chants all game long with the stouffville crowd sitting on their hands rather quiet. of the 510 i would venture to guess more than half were huntsville fans. and thats a conservative guess.

should be a real 'barn-burner' on tuesday!!

it was really something else to see sunday. took the gas out of stouffville as they werent getting cheered in their own building.

Sounds like the Otter game was a great one, can't understand the lack of support for the Spirit in their own Rink!

As you know I wasn't at the Tiger game but it was a real "humdinger" from all reports, I guess the game sheet talks for itself. It's not over by a long shot, but chinks are starting to show in the Cane's armour.

Did you check anything out on a coach getting suspended if his team has too many PIMS in a single game?

i think the league has to find intent. i.e. coach sends player to fight. but its clear there was no control over the bench.

I understand that Perrin left the Newmarket bench part way through the 3rd period. How can you control your team when you are not on the bench. I would say that he lost control and a suspension should be considered if that is the rule interpretation.

Did he leave altogether or just step down in protest? From where I was seated I couldn't see so I just assumed he'd stepped down.

And as cliched as it is, the only kinks in the Canes armor comes in the form of black and white stripes. The entire series has been plagued by below average to downright awful officiating and it's effecting both teams and ultimately the fans enjoyment of the series as well. When the referee(s) go out of their way to make a mockery of what was up until one point a close game it's no wonder things ended up the way they did on the Newmarket bench!

3-1 till 10 mins left is close so that warrents going nuts and taking rediculous penalties?
