I am glad they are both tied - if they were not both tied then one team would be winning and one team would be losing in an overtime game. A first to be sure!!

Tough loss and great win

For the Eagles, a heart-breaker. They were within a whisker of tying the series.

For the Dukes, they found a way. The mark of a good team with a winning tradition.

New Rules New Overtime

February 24 2008, 10:49 PM

I didn't realize that they don't play the 10 minutes of OT before flooding the ice then continuing if necessary for 20 minute periods thereafter.

Tonight it was a flood then right into the 20 minute periods of sudden death.

did the ref mess up or did the rule change come about with the new rules this season.

Next we'll be getting that dumb delay of game for players dumping the puck out.

and those stupid lines to prevent the goaltender from wandering.

Americans ruining a good game.

Goalies already get the delay of game penalty for clearing the puck over the glass in the OHA.

I don't think that having a flood before 20 minutes of OT in the playoffs is a slippery slope to the Americanization of Canada's game.

Re: Barn Burner in Bowmanville

wellingtons play in the first two games of this series have impressed me very much! Not being afraid to set a physical tone early, and going to the net have been keys to their success.

After stealing the series away from the Peterborough Stars, it seems Dan Clarke has hit a wall and Wellington has gone through it and are exploiting his weaknesses. Yes I won't take away the fact the Clarke has been the reason why Bowmanville has had any life in this early semi-final series but his defense are leaving him hanging out to dry. Almost 50 shots per game and Mr. Clarke is probably thinking he is back in Cobourg with the Cougars.

I expect Bowmanville to come back with a strong effort on Tuesday back in the Duke Dome. I believe that this series is still a long way from being over and I think that Clarke might be able to help his Eagles steal a game from the Dukes in their own barn.

I should be making an appearance for my third game of this series. Any of the forum pundits going to be at the game? Dukester? DUKES_FAN?

Just the constant complaining and negativity. I'll leave it alone as I don't like being around people that are always negative so why respond on here.LOL

never been to a game in the dukedome then have you.

duke fans throwing drinks on the opposing teams fans.

come to support the east division when the dukes play st mikes and aurora get
greeted with a hearty What the hell you doing here you don't belong. Might as well
go home a waste of a trip for you to come down.

Are those the positive things you like being around that you are referring to?

As not to disturb your inner chi I'll give you some positives.

Dukes game day staff and personnel usually always stop have a conversation or at least say hello.

Whiskey Corner chanting "We want Potvin We want Potvin" our first game back I found quite amusing. We may here it again the east finals. Although Kingston might have other thoughts.

I like the way the Dukes play. Defense that actually shoot and hit the net 9/10 and score due to the fact forwards are there creating traffic and either screen the goaltender or like last night tip the puck it changes directions and goes in for the OT winner.

Dukeisms

"Never argue with an Duke Fan. They'll drag you down to their level, then they'll beat you with experience."
"Those who think they know everything, are very annoying to those of us who do." -The Wellington Dukes.

It seems CSSPOSTAL and others still have a chip on their shoulder in regards to the Wellington Dukes and their fans! The Dukes has surprised many with both their wins over the Eagles. The boys have played to win , so suck it up. The playoffs are far from over.
May the best team win!!!

You are right on Southernsmoke. It is not how many shots "it is how many goals were weak". Game 2 -3 out of 4 goals were bad real bad. But dont blame the defence. It is the same defence that they had all year. Game 1- 3 of 5 were questionable goals. Dont blame the defence. They made a bad trade giving up 2 local kids. The bK goal finished in the top of the GAA and the other ended up as the cougars # 1 tender. Give the defence a break. They are still playing well. Maybe its time that a new gm is hired. Too bad we lost PB to Cob. JA from Durham is avail. Give him a call.
