| - - no more 2 minute pp shifts
- mcintosh on the point for pp
- play viola more hes fast and can make things happen
- protect oneill better
- shoot the puck more (you dont get extra points for fancy moves)
- roll all your lines
- kokelj, spivak and mceachen are your best D use them with a rookie. dont play two rookies at once

are we twins? i totally agree with everything you said. on the pp macintosh can hit the one timer from the point ..trivino and werek missed numerous times last night and trivino is more dangerous close in. viola is being wasted but will be more of a factor as the others get tired from too too much ice. aurora has proved in the past that you need all four lines contributing although jerome rolling four d is going to come back and haunt him. |

Aurora has rolled 4 D for 2 years - hasn't hurt yet but time will tell. I disagree with McIntosh on the point - I have seen him miss 7 one timers (tired?) and I HATE 5 forwards on the PP - especially when they are out for 1:30 or longer. |

of all the guys to play on the point on the pp mcintosh is the best. trivino is too fancy and just likes to skate circles stick handling which gets them nowhere. |

I don't care who the player is if you play a guy 40 plus minutes a game he will make mental errors I find it hard to believe the two D men sitting on the bench are SO bad they can't contribute positively and more effectively than an exhausted player.
Wasn't Ben Heaphy(20 year old) an assistant captain with Hamilton?playing PK and getting lots of ice? I guess the kid forget how to play?
Evans is no slouch either,he's solid and dependable.
These players will be no good to Dupont if they're out of game shape and forced to watch as the 4 slowly deteriorate.
Talk about a game plan. |

Since I have not seen an "Aurora Guide To Winning" I thought that I would start one.
1) The Tigers have been one of the most successful organizations in the OPJHL since they entered the league in 1998, so as Craigshaw says "if it ain't broken don't fix it".
2) Jerome Dupont and his coaching staff are very capable and know what they are doing, so let them pilot the team as they see fit.
3) In reference to Ben Heaphy, he is a fine defensman. If he has not been playing as much as everyone thinks he should, you can be damned certain that Dupont has a pretty good reason why not, and if you think about it, it wouldn't take a Philedelphia Lawyer to come up with the answer.
Very interesting that everyone is worried about the Spirit's chances of winning the series, so much so that they have to give advice on how to beat the Tigers. Does this mean that most think that the Tigers are the favourites in this one, if so it would be surprising.

Teams who are behind in the series usually need to change something to win. Teams who are leading on the other hand tend to be doing what they need to do to win. Tough concept eh?

How about:
Playing hard every shift
Use your heads as well as your muscles....think
Keep to your role
Don't run around looking for a big hit
Stay out of the penalty box
Follow coaches game plan
Discipline yourself AND your team mates
and.....
Shoot the friggin' puck when you have a shot, and stop looking for the highlight reel goal.
It is amazing what happens when you shoot the puck at the net.
Once two teams get to this point of the year, it's obvious they are talented. Use the talent and if you follow the plan, your chances of winning increase dramatically. One thing to remember is the other team is thinking and working towards victory as well, so whichever team works harder, and makes the fewest mental errors, that team is usually the winner.
In a nutshell, hockey is a simple game. Skate, shoot and work hard. Rocket science it's not. | |
