I think this settles the debate on longest goal on a guarded net.

197 feet. Wow!

197 feet is impossible, the longest possible goal would be 189 feet, and thats shot right from the end boards into the other net. Because of the 11 feet behind the net behind Toskala, and the approx 12 feet behind Davidson when he shot, the goal would have been approx 177 feet, still crazy, but it wasnt really his fault, took 11 bounces by my count, and the puck must have hit an edge on the last bounce that put it past him, because he was square to the puck before the last bounce, but these things happen, still not as bad as Patrick Roy's "Statue of Liberty" goal. haha

He knew how to laugh it off and I liked that part of him.He is playing really well. However can you just imagine anyone giving up a goal like that in OT in game 7 of the finals. Well yes I can, perhaps the Senators!LOL

I can only think that the puck was not sufficiently frozen.

I can't ever recall seeing that many bounces, and bounces that came off the ice at even levels. Usually, a puck will bounce, but eventually settle down. This one kept on bouncing. Very strange, and something the league should look into. If this was a case of pucks not being properly frozen, then imagine if it were a game 7 in a series, and a teams future depended on it.

I would not want to be the minor official who's responsibility is to FREEZE the pucks, and keep then at the proper temperature, and you blow a season for a team because you *&%*%d up.
