He was the best that I ever saw. He played too short a time in the days of bad knees and inadequate care for his ailing knees.
He was in a class of the most special ones. Only Gretzky, Lemieux and he were in that elite class, IMHO. They come along so very infrequently. They are the ones who, in their prime years, could dictate the pace of a game simply by being on the ice.
Jim Kelly wrote a wonderful story on the Bruins' great defenceman. There is also some wonderful footage if some of Orr's greatest moments that will bring tears to your eyes. This, whether you were an Orr fan or not.
