Can we get some feedback on the Dryden Ice Dogs and Sudbury Jr Wolves from someone up north as to opinions etc, on how they compare with the Hurricanes and the Blades. Will they be stronger than the northern representatives at last year's Dudley in Iroquois Falls?

I am sure DJDuker can shed some light on NO Champions the Sudbury Jr Wolves.

As for the Dryden Icedogs, we will have to wait and see, but i do not expect too much from them.

Oakville's and Newmarket's toughest competition will come from each other in my opinion.

The Kal Tire Jr. Wolves can be deadly if they are allowed to dictate the play. They also have a lethal powerplay too, if given the chance to the work it. The biggest question with them, though, is which team will show up. During the regular season they were a team that looked like they were out for a skate, and then through playoffs they have been a dominate force. Alot of these guys have been to the Dudley before and know what it takes to win. The place they lack in though is goaltending, as both are fresh out of AAA, one with New Liskeard and the other Sudbury. They haven't faced alot of shots through the playoffs, and the times I have seen them play they look shaky when peppered. A club with a good chunk of the guys having some form of OHL experience. Bottom line: lots of shots, don't give them powerplays, get in their heads.

Does anybody other than the staunchest fan, beleive they can win this series, or even win a single game?

This is not a particularly good hockey team, and the goaltending will have had to get 100% better than it was.

I doubt it.

Wolves

April 15 2008, 6:12 PM

wolves have weak goaltending that have picked up their game during the playoffs, but have some huge threats upfront in JF Houle and Scott Restoule both ex OHL players along with linemates Jordan Cheechoo and Brendan Biederman who all can bulge the twine pretty good. on the back end they have a couple players mainly Chris Pontes who has a nice shot from the point and also Matt Chuipka.
there is one question mark on the D end and that is if Kyle Hope shows up to play he has only played half the season with the wolves because of work but he was a barrie colts draft pick and has a cannon from the point that you dont want to see on the PP.
