I know they were looking for a sponsor, but unfortunately unable to come up with one! Whistle Radio is a not for profit community radio station in Stouffville. Their official launch was Game 3 of the Spirit series with Aurora, so they have just got off the ground.
Oakville finished first in the West(39-10{6-4} 82pts) and fifth overall.
Earned a bye, knocked off Milton 4-1, Georgetown 4-1, Aurora 4-2 and Markham 4-1 in the league championship for a 16-5 playoff record.
Dryden finished first in the SIJHL(36-13{11-2}-1 75pts).
Earned a bye, knocked off Schreiber 4-3 and Fort William 4-1 in league final.
They have a 8-4 playoff record.
Sudbury finished fourth in the NOJHL(28-22{17-5} 84pts).
Defeated Blind River 4-2, (first place)SSM 4-2 and Abitibi 4-0 in league final.
They have a 12-4 playoff record.
Newmarket finished second in the North(41-8{6-2} 84pts) and fourth overall.
Earned a bye and were quickly bounced by Aurora 4-1.
The Hurricanes have been lying in wait for the past two months.
Oakville takes opener 5-1 over SIJHL champs Dryden.
The Blades held a 1-0 lead after the first.
The Icedogs tied it in the second before Nick McParland scored his first of three in a row in the second to give Oakville a 2-1 advantage at 2nd recess. McParland scored his second and third to put it out of reach, Cimadamore closed out the scoring, he also scored the first goal of the game.
