good for gubber he will be a great addition.
matt milne is gone from newmarket to grand prairie.
The Otters have signed 4 players from the 2 camps they have held and a lot of others have been invited to the main camp in August. Will need to sign another 8 players. Again the best players in camp looked like the 16 year olds. Its unfortunate we can only sign 2. Many of last years 16 year olds returned to try again but most looked like they retrogressed than improved. I do not believe that the cdc plan for sixteen year olds is working. I look at the improvement of those who played in Jr. as opposed to those playing AAA and there is no comparison. Sixteen year old players were playing with heart but you could see the talent. The seventeen year olds seemed to be just going through the motions. Many of these kids have lost heart because of the cdc plan and many will probably drop out of hockey. The cdc is hurting hockey not helping.

what the canes did to milne in the past two full season was a joke. he was the goalie this season and they played the 20 year old. happens all to often.
The number of talented players that I have seen quit playing hockey, or competitive at least, is disheartening. They see the handfull of kids advance to OHL & OHA, (deserving & undeserving) & they feel they have no hope. Try telling a 16 or 17 year old they still have lots of opportunities & they look at you like you are crazy.
I could probably form a team of kids that have left this game & challenge for the league championships.

FWD - MATT DAVIS- 92- 5'10 193lbs- Matt was a 15th rd pick of the Barrie Colts in this year's OHL Draft. The Uxbridge native spent last season as a member of the Central Ontario Wolves Minor Midgets and is a highly skilled forward who will contribute to the Eagles attack.
FWD- TOMMY SUMI - 92- 5'9 165lbs- Whitby native Tommy Sumi was a 13th rd pick of the Kingston Frontenacs in the 08 draft. A solid all around player, Sumi recently attended the final Under 17 camp in Thunder Bay due to his play in the two regional camps.

Newmarket

No Milne, no Ramolla, and if Tony's forum is to be believed, no McQuade either...who's left in Newmarket? Looks like it will be a pretty bleak year for the Canes in the new Central Division. They could possibly find themselves battling with the Cougars for last place all season unless they have a few things up their sleeves to turn this thing around and wouldn't that be something when part of their ownership was one of the few who spearheaded this project in the first place! Will they be billeting this year or are they going back to their amusing "local talent" initiative? Who starts in goal? Too many questions and not enough answers with the exhibition season slowly creeping up on us!
Has anyone heard whether the Eagles have signed any goalies yet? Van Pelt's name was thrown around the rink as being one of the goalies for Eagles next year while he works on making up his mind on whether he will play in the "O" or go NCAA for baseball.
Your right. Sorry, forgot. But that being said, Azzano will surely move into #1 spot, so perhaps they are looking at Van Pelt for backup? I believe he played for the Whitby Midget team last year. Can anyone confirm?
Again, apologies, Azzano will surely be #1. Thanks for the wake-up blackberry guy!
