Rules for next year ...June 29 2009 at 11:13 PM | buzzguy (Login buzzguy) Registered Members |
| Please excuse if this has been discussed already here ... but I just don't know where to go to get this question answered.
How many 93s can play for a team in the Central Division next year? And are there any rules restricting how the team can use them?
thanks ... |

The number of 93's or any other ages will be determined by the Junta once they decide how many they wish to sign this year. |

Two, just like any other Junior A league. |

I thought I heard that it might be four ... because this league is going 'developmental'. But I just don't know what to believe. I wish M71 would answer this as he seems to know what is going on better than most. |

i think the talk of 4 16 year olds came about after a discussion that said the opjhl with 2 per team would have 72 in total. the talk was that if a team didn't use their 2 that another team could increase theirs to a maximum of 4 as long as the league total was not more than 72. hockey canada approval would be required for this to happen. |

Yes, offside is on the mark here, there is some discussion about being able to move 16-year-old spots, so long as the league stays within its quota of two spots for every team involved. I believe the OHA has jurisdiction to do that as other leagues have operated on that basis.
There was also talk of the OHL being able to reassign from their quota to an affiliate, but that one would need Hockey Canada support and it seems the OHL isn't entirely convinced they want to see it. |

The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League uses the 16-year old cards as tradable commodities, I'm surprised the OJHL doesn't do the same. Beaversports, how is it in the Empire? |
