Trenton...great place to stop by for a hockey game

I know my good friends in Trenton are looking forward to the coming hockey season in Trenton. Junior A hockey is back in Trenton where it belongs.

I know GM Tim Clayden and coaches Matt Muir and Matt Goody are looking forward to making Trenton the power and contender of 1997/98 through 1999/2000.

But, if you do come to Trenton from out of town, there are a couple of places to stop by before or after the game for a little nourishment.

Both are on the Glen Miller Road exit on your way to the rink.

The former Sidney Grill has a brand new owner and a just as tasty and reasonable menu as its' former owners. One of my good friend's Csspostal favourite haunts was this place. It has new owners Nick and Helen, long time residents of Oshawa, I am told, and no strangers to the restaurant business. There may be a new sign but rest assured, the fare is just as good. I know. I tried it out.

And Trenton's new fast food Macdonald's outlet on Monogram Place near the Timmies, is a beautiful new facility that is certain to capture the likes of fast food addicts.

I love the fireplaces for those cold nights after a hockey game.

Now....if we could just get junior A hockey back in Port Hope where it also belongs. I miss stopping by Port Hope's best Pizza joint Jim's. It is also a Wexdog favourite.

The good folks of Port Hope may have felt jilted after the franchise high-tailed it out of town. Rightfully so after the blood and sweat they put into the team while they were there.

My classy friends stewy and sabath along with portHopeLady and Gregg could be on my team anytime. They have much to add to a hockey team.

Well Said and I'd like to add for Friday nights if you want wear a Red cap and anything red to honour our troops who have given the ultimate sacrifice, or Served and Continue to Serve this great country of ours.

If you arrive early enough before game time you can take in the RCAF Museum at CFB Trenton.
http://airforcemuseum.ca/ - hours of operation are located on the main page scroll down, look bottom right side.

Regards and yes Go Hawks Go

***** GO HAWKS GO *****

Remember and Support our Troops
