The Tigers avenged their 4-0 loss to Orangeville last night by defeating the Crushers 7-5 in a wild and crazy affair at the ACC tonight in Aurora.

It was a referee's night as the men in stripes handed out over 40 penalties mostly against the Cats I might say. The penalties covered every infraction in the book and as the refs continued to hand them out one after another the more the players and fans became frustrated. Frustration is usually followed by fights and ejections and that's exactly what happened in the later stages of the game. In my opinion the refs Rocca and Koziel should have received majors for "grandstanding". I thought I was watching a referee's clinic on penalty signals covering every penalty in the book..

After the smoke cleared it was the Tigers that outlasted the Crushers and skated away with a 7-5 win. Oddly enough the shots on goal were 32 each, very comparable to last night's game in Orangeville where the shots were 35 each. I was very impressed with the Crushers, they will definitely be a threat in the CCHL. As I said before, sorry to lose them as an opponent in the OJAHL.

It was also a tough night for scorer Brian Graves as the Tigers new pointstreak computer was acting up and in the end, we were not sure that the pointstreak results were properly transported on line. On checking later it seems that the results were not received by pointstreak so no game details are available at this point. That coupled with the revolving penalty box doors, it was a pretty "hairy" night for an exhibition game.

Tigers are now 4-1 in exhibition games and round off their pre season schedule next Thursday and Friday nights with back to back games with their former Yonge Street rivals, the Newmarket Hurricanes.

Yes the refs sure seemed to want to be the show tonite. The 50/50 tonite was not to bad. Does anyone know if Black has played a game in net for the tigers yet and how close to the starting roster was this lineup tonite?
