CCHL Announces September Broadcast Schedule on RogersTV

(Toronto, ON) - The Central Canadian Hockey League (CCHL) is pleased to announce that the broad-based television coverage provided by Rogers Television of the CCHL and its member teams is set to resume this coming weekend.

RogersTV will again be showcasing teams from their Toronto and York Region stations in live-to-air game broadcasts as well as teams in Durham Region will receive coverage via Electronic News Gathering (ENG) crews which will shoot highlights as well as conduct player interviews and features.

RogersTV will be producing a weekly show, Junior A This Week which will air in most GTA territories as well as online at www.rogerstv.com.

The regular season broadcast schedule for the month of September is as follows:

Friday September 11, 2009 7:30 PM: Newmarket at St. Michaels (Toronto and York Region)
Sunday September 13, 2009 3:00 PM: Toronto at North York (Toronto)
Thursday September 17, 2009 7:30 PM: Toronto at Newmarket (York Region)
Thursday September 24, 2009 7:30 PM: Hamilton at Newmarket (York Region)
Friday September 25, 2009 7:30 PM: Hamilton at St. Michaels (Toronto)

Additional repeats may air within 24 hours of the original broadcast. Check the schedule grid at www.rogerstv.com for detailed program listings. RogersTV broadcasts on channels 10 and/or 63 in Toronto and York Region.

The newly established CCHL will begin regular season play on September 9th 2009. The twenty one (21) team league includes eight teams who were participants in the OHA sponsored Central Division pilot project (Cobourg Cougars, Hamilton Red Wings, Markham Waxers, Newmarket Hurricanes, St. Michaels Buzzers, Stouffville Spirit, Toronto Junior Canadiens and the Wellington Dukes) along with thirteen additional entrants from across the OJHL -Seguin Bruins, Orangeville Crushers, Lindsay Muskies, Peterborough Stars, Bowmanville Eagles, Burlington Cougars, Whitby Fury, Streetsville Derbys, Ajax Attack, Dixie Beehives, Pickering Panthers, North York Rangers, and the Upper Canada Hockey Club. The CCHL emphasizes rigorous operating standards and an increased commitment to developing young hockey players for the Ontario Hockey League, Canadian Interuniversity Sport, National Collegiate Athletic Association and other higher levels within the sport in Canada and abroad.
