In a game that saw defense thrown to the winds, the Tigers came out on the right side of a 7-5 score. It was one of those games where it's "you score, then I will score score, no you score and then I will score score". The 1st 8 goals were Tigers, Blues, Tigers, Blues, Tigers, Blues, Tigers, Blues. Just as I was thinking that I must have taken a wrong turn and found myself at a CCHL game (ha, ha) the Tigers went ahead 6-4 and hung on for the 7-5 win.

The Cats played without 3 of their starting defenceman which had a lot to do with the wide open style of play back of the blueline that allowed 5 goals, 3 questionable, but as the man said "a win is a win" take the 2 points and play another day.

The Tailgate party and the opening ceremonies went off very well after a few minor problems with the spotlight in the Arena. The Tiger head and the smoke were very impressive, a good night was had by all. The Tiger Mascot "Slapshot" made his appearance returning after a "hiatus" of one year.

For the Tabbies it was "Captain" David Morley with two goals and an assist. Matching Morley with 2 goals were Nic Vangog and Lucas VanNatter who also added an assist. Jeff VanderLugt potted a single while Nick Quinn was big in the assist department with 3. Michael Sardella with 2, Kyle McLaughlin with 1 and Daniel Lisi with 1 rounded out the assist crew. Goaltender Curtis Black picked up his 1st win as a Tiger turning in a 25/30 night while the Tigers were outshooting the Blues 44/30.

Aurora meets the winless Collingwood Blues tomorrow afternoon at the ACC1. On Monday the Tigers will be "shuffling" off to Buffalo to meet the "red hot" Junior Sabres who at this point have surprised a few teams. Hopefully 1 or 2 of their defence corp will be back in uniform by then, if not it could be a very tough game against the strong Sabre team.

Tiger's record now 2-1.

"In a game that saw defense thrown to the winds,"
