In the international game the Olympics do not mean as much to me as the World Junior Championships do, even the World Cup has slightly more meaning for me.
Why ? Because they are hockey only championships and not just a tournament which is apart of a bigger show.

Hockey Canada began the 'Program of Excellence' in the early 80's. Since then they, and the rest of the world, cannot keep up.

Canada has defeated USSR/CIS/Russia seven times in the Gold Medal game, while they have won five.
