It sure was a big win for the surging Golden Hawks. I do not know who was beaming after the game more, me or Tim Clayden. I spoke to Tim after the game.
The quickness of the Trenton forwards was evident early on. Oakville simply could not keep up this night.
I really liked the work of Stibbard, Camilleri, Davies and Foglia. Though pint-sized, they can really motor and have tons of heart.
The big Trenton line of McCarty, Gehl and Stibbard was really good. I was worried that Clayden might have worn them out by playing them too much.
It worked out but what if the score had been tied midway through the third and those guys were out of gas?
Non believers can say all they want about the Blades not getting goal tending tonight but the Hawks were full value for the win tonight. They just proved, once again, that they can play with the big dogs. All they have to do is focus on beating the teams behind them in the standings.
Make no mistake about it, folks; this team will make the playoffs and make some noise. They are well on their way. Trenton.

In fact there was one astute observation by Rob about the Trenton defence.
Though small, you do not have to be big to get body position on opposing forwards around the net. It is termed "boxing him out" .
Trenton needs to do a better job of that.
I have a feeling TC is not done tinkering. He needs a little more size at the back and another big time goaltender.
This team is close to being able to not only compete with the big dogs but beat them. If patient and with minimal tinkering here on in, this team is well on their way to giving the great hockey fans of Trenton something to be excited about.
I wish them well.....as long as they do not beat my Vees.
Stay tuned.
