I was transferred to North York in August, and bored stiff. Just wondering if anyone on here knows of rinks with Jr. A teams...(classic or central) close to where I am. I now stagnate, I mean live, (during the week) at Yorkmills and the DVP. Any help would be appreciated. This living in a apartment is for the birds. Thanks guys....cook

From where you live you are only about a half an hour from Aurora and about 10 mins north of Aurora is Newmarket. The Tigers (OJAHL) play their homes games on Friday night at 7.30pm and the Hurricanes (CCHL) play Thursday nights at 7.30pm. Both play some home games on Sunday afternoons at 2.30pm.

For Aurora you just go up the DVP to the Aurora side road, then west over to Yonge St and then north about 2 blocks, the Arena (Aurora Community Center) is on your left side, you can see it from Yonge St.

For Newmarket, you take the DVP to the Mulock side road, then west over to Yonge St and then north about 3 stoplights to Eagle St, turn left on Eagle and follow it around till you see the Arena (Ray Twinney Sports Complex) on your left, look for the flashing light on the building, that means the Canes are playing.

The Tigers and the Hurricanes are exciting teams to watch, you will enjoy both.

For those of us living in the GTA, there's almost always a game to see that's reasonably close.
Everything in the following list is probably within 30 minutes from DVD and 401.
The closer ones are near the top and farther ones are near the bottom.

Markham
Toronto
North York
St. Michaels
Upper Canada
Villanova
Dixie
Stouffville
Vaughan
Pickering
Streetsville
Ajax
Whitby
Aurora
Newmarket
Brampton
Bramalea
Mississauga

That's a real shame ENL, just when your Pirates were showing some life too. Wish I had known you had moved last time I saw you at the rink down in Picton, I would have stopped to chat a bit longer. Unfortunately you're quite a fair drive from any Jr. C around there.
