The Toronto Junior A Canadiens have teamed up with Thunderbird Sports & Entertainment to dedicate their home game vs. the Mississauga Chargers on Sunday November 27th to support Prostate Cancer.
November dubbed Movember is prostate cancer month and the TJC will take up the cause by donating a portion of their ticket sales plus a variety of in game fundraising schemes to help raise awareness and find a cure for the disease.
Prostate Cancer is growing risk amongst men over the age of 40. One in six men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lifetime.
We are pleased to be helping the team with staging this fundraising game, states Dave Robinson owner of Thunderbird Sports. We encourage all players, coaches, male fans and fathers not only in the entire TJC organization but around the league to grow a mustache and also to make a real sincere effort to get to this game Sunday November 27th. We are looking forward to having an interesting and very successful evening adds Robinson. What makes a great event is a good crowd so we really need everyones support. TJC players will be encouraged to sell tickets for the event.
Fundraising activities in addition to ticket sales will include: 50/50, chuck a puck, raffle tickets and a silent auction. We also really want the young TJC minor players to support the game by participating in on ice intermission entertainment. A 3 on 3 minor hockey intermission game is planned, ads Robinson.
We are setting a goal of $2,000 for a fundraising donation to Prostate Cancer.
Tickets for the game will be special priced at $12.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.
Tickets will be available in advance at all TJC home games and can also be purchased at the Canadian Ice Academy at 3111 Universal Dr. in Mississauga.
