The eleventh day of the 11th month in the year 2011 will never happen again.

But this year's Remembrance Day is sure to have special significance for us all.

Did you know too, that the number eleven is significant in framing other things truly Canadian.

The Canadian loonie has an eleven-sided polygon on the coin.

The wonderful red maple leaf we see on our flag has eleven points.

And something that is truly Canadian, hockey has the famous number eleven retired for one of the great players of all time. It belongs to Mark Messier and it has been retired in edmonton and new york were he led each team to a Stanley Cup.

Here is hoping that each of you took a moment to reflect on those who did not come home in service of their country.
