I haven't been here too long myself, but I'll help w/whatever I can. Well, I don't know about any Dominican salons around here. As a matter of fact, a while ago, I posted a question to all the Chicago heads, asking them if they knew of a good Dominican salon. However, nobody knew of any. So, when you make your way out here, and if you come across one, please, let me know
Also, I've never gotten my hair braidedon the south side before, but I can recommend a good braider on the north side. Her name is Farafina and her # is 773/761-3275. There's also a downtown salon bythe name of Amazons (they're listed), however they're pretty pricey. And as far as clubs, poetry readings, etc,... you can check out this site.
