Subject: CCTV Should we or shouldn't we
I am writing to tell you of the Aldeburgh Society's views on CCTV in Aldeburgh.
Broadly speaking we do feel it would be of use in preventing and solving minor offences committed in the town, particularly in the summer months.
We therefore support the idea of mobile cameras, but if cost is an issue, which it is likely to be, we would suggest that the cameras and cost could be shared with a neighbouring town which has a year round problem (eg Leiston) and only deployed in Aldeburgh during the peak summer months when most of this nuisance crime takes place.
