Morons

I see the point of a few of these messages, but most of them are complete and utter garbage.

As much as I dislike Fry's upper management and the idiots that are in the "Customer Service" department here's a bit of my POV, and experience...

I used to work at Fry's Store #6 (Campbell) back in the day when it was the highest profitting store in the entire chain. Being that I did work for Fry's I have a unique point of view that most people just don't have.

Here is a little story of a complaint that I got while being a software supervisor.

I had a customer attempt to return a very expensive peice of software. That customer is sent back to speak to me because he opened and installed Adobe Photoshop, and then decided that he didn't like it after all. Now this guy attempts to say that the moron that sold him the software swore up and down it would work on his system. I tell him "Did you buy it at THIS store?" His reply "Yes, I bought it at fry's" I said again "Did you buy it at THIS store?" His reply "Uhmm, no uhh, I bought it at the sunnyvale store." I then explain to him that because he purchased this 500 dollar peice of software that he has installed on his system and he claims didn't work properly on his machine that we can not take it back because we don't resell software that has been returned by a customer.

His immediate comment is "Yes you do! I see those tags on software all the time" My reply "If you can find one return tag on ANYTHING on the shelf in the software department of THIS store I'll approve your return."

Needless to say, this guy searched the shelves for literally an hour and then left with the copy of Photoshop he tried to return because he had obviously already made a copy and had written the serial number down.

I am the person that you can thank for the policy of not reselling returned software. I like many others had purchased software from Fry's back in the day and ran into problems with missing CD's, missing manuals etc...

Now for some of you to say that all Fry's stores have moron's working for them, my blunt answer to you is "Why YES!, Yes they do! but so does everyone else!"

I personally have had craploads of problems with just plain morons at Fry's, & Best Buy. However, those places have employee's that are brilliant in comparison to those at CompUSA, and Circuit City, for which I have a loving nick name Crap City.

Fry's does actually train its employee's weekly. If the employee's listen to, or even give a rats booty what is going on is a seperate thing entirely.

I would also like to add, that I actually feel for those who are in high positions in the Fry's chain. I know the amount of frustration that you have in trying to get a knowledgeable staff that actually cares, and then dealing with those irate customers that come in from getting an ass chewing from their boss and need someone to vent on.

To the guy that made this site. Get a life. I think you are a bit obsessed with Fry's, and I betcha you'll be shopping there again soon!

No one else has the selection that fry's does, and no one will ever.
