When I worked at Fry's I often saw stacks of TV boxes out in the AVTA area right by the speaker-demo room in the back. In fact, once they stacked monitors back there and I had to go get one for a customer. I had to get help getting the box down off a towering stack (the bottom of the top box was about at my eye level) and the stacks were none too steady. I was just waiting for one of those stacks to fall down and crush someone. I tried bringing it to the attention of the AVTA sup and got nowhere.
If there's ever an earthquake while those stores are open, heaven help whoever is in the computer aisles. They've got heavy boxes stacked up on top of all those shelves and those boxes are going to rain down on anyone in the aisles. And it goes without saying that anyone in the back stock at a time like that had better hope their life insurance is paid up, because you know Fry's isn't going to compensate the family of any employee crushed to death back there.
