In Andres's office, Sandra takes a chance and offers him her resignation, in an effort to appear truly ashamed and contrite. Like she guessed, Andres thinks that's ridiculous and reaffirms their working relationship and friendship with a handshake and kiss on the cheek. She's all crocodile smiles.

In Queretaro, Lidia is trying hard to get Maru to see things Luis's way. I'm your mother's mother, and even I think he has a right to have a woman he loves in his life again. Maru starts clouding up and whining. Luis comes in and wants to talk alone with her. It's clear Maru's still angry and stubborn. She wants to stay there with her granny! He reassures her he loves her, as always, but affirms he's not going to give Victoria up. He's going to marry her. I wish you could understand, please. No, I hate her! I hate her!

In a hotel in Queretaro, Mauricio runs into Sergio, who's staying there now. In direct opposition to Esteban's wishes, Mauricio makes very friendly overtures to Sergio and wants to get together with him for coffee. Later Sergio goes to Camilo's office, and he tells Sergio that his job will require some traveling, which Sergio doesn't mind. Sergio asks Camilo to talk to his uncle to see if he can improve things any. He agrees, but doesn't think much will come of it.

In Esteban's office, he fills in Andres about Victoria's boyfrend problem and her change of plans about Guadalajara. Meanwhile, Victoria's home at Julia's packing, and Julia's trying hard to talk her out of going or into letting her go with. Just then Queta enters, saying Luis is on the phone from Queretaro, but Victoria says to say she's not home. Queta goes back and tells Luis the truth, so he knows Victoria's avoiding him. Luis is coming home tomorrow.

At the beauty salon, the owner is so happy that Alma isn't a "slave" for Luis anymore; glad she's looking happier these days. Just then a horn honks, and it's Roberto to pick Alma up.

Sandra is at Valentina's, regaling her with the good news about Victoria leaving for Guadalajara. Valentina is thrilled, but only for a moment. Sandra can't allow her to be happy for more than 30 seconds at a time. She reminds Valentina that Guadalajara is an easy plane ride and that Andres has his own plane. With the plane, it would be easy for Andres to be unfaithful to you. Valentina's safely depressed again, and it doesn't help when the maid enters just then to announce Andres called and said not to wait supper.

Andres is having supper with Chiripas. I have to hand it to Chiripas, he's always trying to do right by the institution of marriage. He reminds Andres that just because Victoria and her boyfriend broke up doesn't mean anything -- Andres is still married! Andres shrugs this off, though, saying that he followed and saw Victoria crying piteously in a church. Chiripas interrupts him, asking if he doesn't have any pride, following her around like that? Andres continues, surprising his friend, by insisting that if Victoria would accept him, he's going to divorce Valentina!

That night at home at Julia's, the three ladies are all in their jammies and having an insomnia party, except with tears and sadness. Victoria apparently told Julia that if everything goes well in Guadalajara, then the two of them can join her and be together again there. But she doesn't want to change her mind about leaving. Everybody in the vecinidad has been so nice to her, and she doesn't want to face them.

Next morning, Queta carries a wash bucket and lets herself into Luis's place to freshen things up a bit for him. When Victoria comes out of Julia's with her suitcases, after a tearaful goodbye with Julia, she notices Luis's apartment door ajar. She slowly and sadly goes upstairs and through the door. No one's there, but Luis's firefighter aviator-type jacket and his duffle are on the sofa. She's already crying and goes to pick up his fleecy coat and hold it close to her chest. Victoria breathes deeply of the lingering scent of Luis on the jacket. Then she puts it down and leaves. After a few moments we see she's in a taxi that's trying to pull away; but Luis has run up and is yelling at the guy to stop and hanging on to the window! The guy pulls away anyhow, and Luis almost gets hit by another taxi behind them. He grabs this taxi, and they roar away after the first one. There they all are, flying down the street, each passenger admonishing the respective driver, Faster, faster! I couldn't help it, I had to laugh at these two little Herbie love bugs in a race like that.

Sandra comes up to Aurora at her desk and wants to know where the heck Andres is. He's got an important meeting and is nowhere to be seen. Aurora doesn't know where he is, though, and Sandra surprises her, about threatening that she'd better get him there.

Dr. Reyes is trying to comfort and counsel Valentina, who tearfully admits Andres is sleeping in the guest room and not going to give her a chance to have a child, risky or not. He advises her to calm down and return to being the sober, reasonable woman Andres married.

Luis never catches up with Victoria until she's already in line with her bags at the airline check in. He's frustrated and desperate and making a scene, grabbing her and her bags. Let me go! she says. She reminds him he didn't want to talk to her anymore! He finally calms down and admits he was stupid not to let her explain, but you made me jealous! You acted childish and irrational, and why didn't you trust me!? He's repentant, avowing he trusts her and loves her. Please don't go. I left Maru in Queretaro. This stops Victoria. I didn't want that! It wasn't my decision, it was Maru's. Victoria can't accept this situation, even though she loves him very much. He begs her not to go, but she says they need time. Time for what? I'm sorry, but I can't accept you and Maru being separated. He keeps begging her not to go, but she knows she has to. Finally he accepts her decision. They part, vowing their love. Take good care of yourself, she says.

Back at the vecinidad, Toni's banging Chaquira's door down and when she lets him in, Jovita follows and tells them both with a lot of fanfare that she and Matias are throwing a big party! She hopes Toni can bartend (this gives him pause, since he's not a bartender, only pretends to be one) and Chaquira can entertain. She leaves, and Chaquira continues their conversation of that morning, regaling Toni about how in love she is. Toni throws a wet blanket on it all, reminding her not to bring her fellow around the neighbors, in case someone should spill the beans about her past life. Also don't tell him about it yourself. Chaquira is devastated and hurt Toni doesn't think she has a right to be happy. She's serious about Chiripas and wants to stay with him forever.

At Alma's dad's office, it's past quitting time and the secretary has to take a personal call for Roberto out on a main-office line instead of his private line. She hangs up, and the dad overheard that the secretary is disgusted at taking so many personal calls from women for the boss. When the scene opened, Alma's dad had been about to take a swig of Pepto Bismol. Bet he needs it now.

Turns out, Andres is missing his meeting to be out at the airport taking his big chance with Victoria. He gets there, and she is really surprised to see him. He tells her he is going to miss her. She just says she's going to miss various ones at the office, but especially she is going to miss her boyfriend! I'm sure he feels like an idiot, and Victoria does look a little peeved herself. She really can't fail to miss the implications of his actions. Before he leaves, he informs her someone will be at the airport in Guadalajara to pick her up.

Back at Julia's, she's letting a very downhearted Luis in the door. They sit at the dining table and commiserate. He knows he was stupid not to let Victoria explain the other night, but she made me so jealous! Julia says, She was very sad about that. Also about your daughter. This gets him further down, if possible, and he explains about Maru staying with Lidia again. But he gets back to the first topic, and tries to pry out of Julia the business about dinner with Andres. The topic disgusts Julia, and right away Luis knows she knows something, but can't budge an explanation out of her. That's for Victoria to tell you! Luis is sitting there frowning, jaw clenched in frustration, when Julia relents to say, I can tell you one thing, though; Victoria loves you -- yes, she does! Luis's face brightens and his lips start to curl in a smile.

Andres pulls up at his house and is in a bad mood talking on the phone with Sandra about missing the meeting. Inside, a very happy Valentina is meeting with her foundation friends. Andres breezes straight through to his office, barely acknowledging all of them. Dead silence in his wake. Valentina barges into his office, furious. These people are giving their time and money in David's name! You can't act like that! But he's sick of them, of her, of her games and her manipulations. She's suddenly hurt and tries to approach him, but he barks, Don't touch me! and charges back out the door. A few minutes later upstairs, Andres sits in his guest room and remembers with embarrassment the scene at the airport. Valentina follows him in there to talk a bit more calmly. He doesn't want to talk. He's had it with everything. He doesn't believe in her promises, in her plans, and what's more doesn't care anymore!

At the fire station, Luis is back on the job and goes first to see the chief. He fills him in on his disappointing trip to Queretaro, but mentions the fire department there helped him search for Maru. The chief acknowledges the brotherhood of the service. Luckily for Luis, the fire alarm rings just then and he is allowed to run out and rejoin his compadres and lose himself in his job again. The "Action Station" theme plays as sirens scream and trucks pull out. I like that theme and the trucks, too. Very heroic.

In the Guadalajara airport, Victoria stands by an interesting sculpture with her bags and waits and waits. Nobody comes, and finally she picks up her bags to go and get a taxi herself. After a while we see a fellow arrive at the airline desk and frantically ask for Victoria. He was supposed to pick her up but had car trouble! Well, the passengers are all gone. He calls the hotel to leave a message there for her about what happened. Meanwhile and finally, we see that Victoria is out in the middle of nowhere that I can make out, riding with a taxi driver who is either high or drunk and about to pass out. He suddenly keels over and she gasps, terrified, when she sees they are headed for the side of the road and a steep drop over the embankment! The same music plays as when her father's car rolled over that awful rainy night, and sure enough, the taxi rolls over down the hill and slams into the bottom of the ravine. The last thing we see is the driver and Victoria, lying unconscious, amid broken glass, and covered with blood! Whew, tune in Monday night! (What lengths some people will go to to avoid a job transfer, eh?)
