Novelas are already doing so much to teach about AIDS, and heart attacks, and drinking (except that when the characters decide to quit drinking its always much easier for them than for any real person with the same problem). I wish that they would add seat belts. People pay attention. But when I lived in Mexico I don't remember taxis even being equiped with seat belts (but I moved back to the States 17 years ago, so I hope things have changed).
Also to continue griping about poor Victoria's trauma treatment, where was her cervical collar? Accidents like that leave people paralyzed. In the hospital where I used to work, the cervical collar didn't come off until the X-rays had shown that it was safe--and that was usually days after the accident.
