I just added some photos of my pale yellow brugmansia to my photo album. It's been a ray of sunshine lately after the harsh summer.
Charles Grimaldi (at least that's what I call him) has just finished flushing. Didn't get any new pics of him this time around but he's looking much better.
Jarie - it's lovely. Too bad you can't find out what Brug it is... There's no way to trace back to where you got it? It looks like a nice lemon yellow. I like that.
Kathy, that's what I call it, too...soft lemon yellow. I took a couple of cuttings from a brug near the River Walk in San Antonio...that's all I know about it. I can't seem to find anything close in the burgmansia archives here and there. Who knows, could be a cross, although I would imagine that the landscapers there would have gotten it from a nursery.
Jarie,
I had no idea you had so many pictures in your gallery! I enjoyed them all. I've never seen a yellow brug that is such a soft almost white yellow, its really beautiful.

Right now the brugs are blooming better than they have all summer. I'm enjoying every color, size, shape, and fragrance I can get close to. I've never seen a brug that I didn't like unless it is Rotor Vulcan and it just doesn't do much for me. LOL!
Shirley, I'm enjoying my recent flushes on CG, Dr. Seuss and pale yellow. It's a lovely breath of fresh air after a miserable, unproductive summer. I'm anxious for the foliage on all my brugs to look more normal because I lost so many leaves this summer and the ones that didn't fall off are pretty puny.
Along with the flushes, I'm watching my cuttings like a hawk waiting for them to be "nubbed" enough to plant in pots. Some are coming along nicely and will be ready soon.
Unfortunately, my Ecuador Pink and Sunset will either need to be cut way back or dug up entirely. The hot weather this summer was just too much for both of them and they look awful! Jamaica Yellow is resting right now.
Hi Jarie...did your brugs simply suffer from the heat, or did they take a big hit while you were traveling? Sure hope we all have a great brug year in '07.

SeaTac, WA...one cool place
Partick, probably a combination of both although we have sprinklers while we're gone. I think the extreme heat did the most damage as many of the branches look blanched, washed out, lifeless. There are a few places sprouting but not enough to keep them as they are. I haven't decide yet to cut them way back or not.
Here they both are. As you can see, the EP has a few more sprouted spots so there may be more hope for her but the Sunset looks pretty bad and isn't responding very well to the rain and cooler temps.
Oh, Jarie, those poor brugs! And I thought we had it bad here in the Northeast! Actually, mine are doing better now than they did all summer. And the fragrance when I go out at night is just heavenly! I hope your plants recover... your a good brug mom though, I'm sure you'' be able to whip them back into shape with a little TLC and some cooler temps.
Kathy, my hubby and I just came in from a 2 mile walk and each way, in and out, we passed the pale yellow blooming it's heart out and ohhhh the fragrance. It's funny, during drier times this brug has little fragrance but tonight and since the damper weather, it's heavenly. The trumpets are huge, too, almost iridescent at night.
Here, I can share the beauty but not the fragrance.
Jarie, after the summer we have had, I am so glad to hear that you are getting enjoyment out of your brugs. When I go out at night and smell that wonderful fragrance, I know it has all been worth it. Enjoy.......
Carrie, It definitely was a trying summer but now it's all worth the pain. Let's hope everyone is enjoying their brugs now that things have settled down some in most parts of the country...sorry that those of you in the north are preparing for winter but, hopefully, Spring 2007 will come early.
Jarie, I like the pale yellow, it's very pretty.
Your EP and Sunset look like what many of ours were looking like all summer. I hope they come back and get much better for you now that it's cooling off.
By the way, what is this?

LOL, Lynne, figured someone would wonder about that...no, it's not a real snake but a coiled snake made by the grandson of a neighbor of mine in one of his art classes. A couple of years ago, he was going to toss it, I rescued it and put it in my garden...the kind of snake that doesn't startle me.
for the compliments on unknown pale yellow. She's just about finished flushing for this go round.
LMAO!! I'm happy to hear that, Jarie! With those colors it would be a Coral snake. That's a cute idea... I'm imagining someone walking through while not knowing, and Eeeeek!

Before I read the explanation, I was looking up Coral Snake. Was ready to yell...........MOVE!! I couldn't live there if I thought I had a coral snake in the yard.
